Well now you can!  Yummy Mummy Fitness is a new fitness class/program with a difference; Yummy Mummy Fitness is a class specifically for new Mums and their babies. Classes commenced in 2009 and being run weekly at the Parish Hall Byron Bay (under English language school). Classes in the spacious function room will be from 11.30. Yummy Mummy Fitness - a mothers support group with a differences instead of coffee and cake its squats and crunches!!!

The classes take place at the Parish Hall Byron Bay (under English language school). This class is about getting your body back into shape not only will you feel fantastic but you will tone and strengthen your body with particular attention paid to pelvic floor, hips, thighs, buttocks and abdominals …all those areas compromised by child birth!

As well as the exercise there is a great social aspect to the class, you will meet other local mums with young children and start to build a social support network, there will be regular educational sessions each session on various aspects of being a new mother and stories, drinks and nibbles to share, a very beneficial day out.

And finally another fantastic element of this class is not only do you benefit but your baby does too, with the use of sounds, colors, textures and movements the babies cognitive development is enhanced not to mention the great healthy bond you form as parents.

 This class has been developed with mother and baby in mind and will use both the stroller and your baby to enhance fitness.

Yummy Mummy founder and director (and a mum herself) Lisa Parkes says: 

“So many mothers want to exercise after having a baby but they don’t want to leave the baby or use childcare at such an early age. Yummy Mummy fitness gives you the opportunity to exercise within weeks of your birth!  I saw the need for a fitness program where you could bring your baby with you and have the social support and network of a mothers group … its mothers group with a differences its not coffee and cake its squats and crunches!!!”

Classes are held once a week and are for 1.5hrs the first hour will be fitness training, toning and strengthening with 30 minutes of education, socialising and support. 

Classes are limited to 10, so pre-booking and payment is required.
