Are You Living Life To The Fullest?
Words By: Margaret Galang, YMF Founder
Are you living life to the fullest? This is a question I often ask myself, because in the past there was a time in my motherhood journey where I was stuck in a major rut. I was not in a good place, and I definitely wasn’t living my life to the fullest. I had forgotten about that YOLO (you only live once) attitude that I once had when I was young and carefree, and I had forgotten about all the goals and dreams I had for myself. I was stuck in the monotony of day to day life, and was so consumed in my motherhood role that I neglected to look after myself. I think that’s a pretty common thing that happens to us mums, right? We just want the very best for our children and we would do anything for them, so we put their needs and wants first ahead of our own. But that doesn’t mean that we have to forget about ourselves completely and not get our needs and wants met too. We are still our own person and we deserve to be happy and be living our lives to the fullest too.
So, I started to dream again. And dreaming is such a wonderful thing, you get to think about all the things you want for your life and put that in the forefront of your mind. Soon it was easy to turn some of those dreams into goals, and start working on making them happen. I guess the reason I’m writing this blog today is just to bring your attention to yourself. Take a moment and just think about yourself for a little bit. Are you doing what makes you happy? Are you being the best version of yourself? What changes can you make or what can you do differently so you are living your life to the fullest? Take some time to do some dreaming. What do you truly want your life to look like? Turn some of those dreams into goals so you can start making it happen. The beauty of life is, we can have whatever we want, if we are brave enough to go out and get it.
Another thing I’ve done is started a bucket list, and it’s so much fun creating this list. Sure, some things don’t seem possible right now, but one day! Regardless, it’s fun to dream and think about doing things that are outside the monotony of day to day life!.. Try it for yourself! What would be on your bucket list?
