Stop Making Excuses and Create Your Own Success Story

What makes some people successful and others not? How is it that some people can get fit, lose weight, and look amazing but I can’t? What is it I need to be doing to get that for myself?.. Have you ever found yourself asking these questions? After 13 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, working with hundreds of people trying to help them achieve their health and fitness goals, I’ve learned a few things that those that are successful have in common. So I’ll share with you the top 3 things they all have in common so that you can create your own success story.

First and foremost over anything else, how badly do you want it? How badly do you really want to lose the weight? Is it an absolute must for you to achieve this? If so, why? Why do you want it so much? Why does it really matter to you? What are you really doing this for? The more emotion you can attach to your goals, the more likely you will achieve it. If you are only half committed to something, then you’ve only got a 50% chance of actually making it happen. You need 100% commitment and 100% belief that you can and will make it happen – no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Tony Robbins sums up this point perfectly. Secondly, be willing to put in the work. Change is never easy, no matter what it is you’re trying to change. Anything worthwhile will always involve hard work and effort. So stop looking for the quick fix, because let me tell you – there is no quick fix! And if there was, then we wouldn’t have the obesity epidemic that we have today. Sure, there are products and programs out there that claim to offer the quick fix but ultimately it will still require some kind of effort from you, and if they’re telling you that there is absolutely no effort involved and you’ll achieve all of these amazing results then it’s a scam. Don’t waste your money on these things, because that is all they are out to do – provide you with a quick fix to make quick money. But how long will this quick fix last? Real change will require hard work and effort, don’t be fooled by clever marketing that it won’t.

Thirdly, be stronger than your strongest excuse. There is always a way, always. There’s always a way to fit in exercise, there’s always a way to eat healthy, there’s always a way to take some kind of action that will bring you closer to your goals, no matter how small that action is. If you are really truly committed to your goals, you can and you will find a way. You won’t let anything stop you.

Now before looking into what exercise program you’re going to do or what diet plan you’re going to start, get these 3 things right first. Consider this the foundation to your success. Without it, your chance of success is slim. If I look at those who have been successful with us at Yummy Mummy Fitness, it’s because they had these 3 things down pat. Don’t worry just yet about the nitty gritty of how you’re going to achieve your goals. If you have these 3 things covered then the ‘how’ will come easily.

ACTION: Take some time out to have a really good think about some of the questions in this blog. Ask yourself these questions and answer it honestly. If you’re not quite there yet in wanting to make a change badly enough, or you’re not willing to put the work in just yet, or you have too many things going on that might get in the way, then maybe now is not the right time and that’s ok. Or maybe the things that you’re saying you want isn’t really what you want? There’s no right and wrong when it comes to setting goals. But no matter what goals it is that you set for yourself, be sure that you really truly want to achieve it, you’re willing to put in the work, and you won’t let any excuse stop you.
